Most religions say the same thing. They proclaim, "Believe me!" The novelty of Judaism is that it insists, "Think me!" The individual can use rational thinking to make sense out of life. It is not just a question of belief.

Albert Einstein contrasted science and religion when he said, "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." Apparently, a person must have religion, but he needs one that is rational -- seemingly a contradiction in terms. This book, The Wisdom of the Jews, comes to resolve this dilemma for the thinking individual.

    About the Author:

Born and raised in America and now living in Jerusalem for over thirty-five years, Yitzhak Shimon Hurwitz has studied and taught Judaism to many young adults who have travelled through the historical and spiritual capital of the Jewish people. In this very inspiring environment, the author received rabbinic ordination and wrote two prior books, Being Jewish and Self Beyond Self. Along the way, with Heaven's help, the author married and was blessed with five children, and from them a number of grandchildren. He still is fortunate to be teaching opposite the holiest site in the Jewish world -- the Western Wall (Kotel) in the Old City of Jerusalem.
